We just created Windows Server 2016 Std on VMWare platform. I went through the setup and switched roles. Your computer cannot connect to allow you to access the RD Gateway server error when you cannot connect to a remote system. The reason for the error seems to be that the Remote Desktop client is using HTTP/UDP connections. The Remote Desktop Client receives updates from Microsoft from time to time and they usually release a newer version with the release of new Windows. Over time, they will also support RDP connections sold over HTTP.
